Purpose of this page
This page explains how Secure Payment and shipping work on MyGearMarket in plain language. It is intended to help buyers and sellers understand the main steps, responsibilities and limitations of Secure Payment. The Terms & Conditions and Secure Payment Policy remain the legally binding documents.
By selecting Secure Payment, users should understand the key points below before continuing.
The buyer completes payment through Secure Payment.
The payment is processed through Stripe and linked to the relevant listing, buyer, seller and order.
After successful payment, the order moves into the shipment workflow and the seller is instructed to ship the item.
After payment, the seller receives confirmation that the item has been sold through Secure Payment.
The seller must ship the item and upload tracking information to the platform.
The seller must use trackable shipping and must insure the shipment for the full Transaction Value.
Tracking information should include carrier, tracking number and shipping date.
For each Secure Payment transaction involving shipment, the seller must use trackable shipping.
Shipping insurance is mandatory and must cover the full Transaction Value.
The seller must package and ship the item in accordance with the requirements of the selected carrier and the applicable insurer.
The seller is responsible for choosing a suitable carrier, complying with carrier and insurer conditions, providing accurate customs information where applicable, retaining proof of shipment, tracking and insurance coverage, and cooperating with the buyer, carrier or insurer if a shipment issue occurs.
Where a carrier or insurance claim is denied or reduced because the seller did not comply with these requirements, the seller remains responsible for the loss.
Once the seller uploads valid tracking information, the order is marked as shipped and the 48-hour payout timer starts.
Seller payout is generally released 48 hours after tracking information has been uploaded, provided:
MyGearMarket may place a payout on administrative hold where necessary for fraud prevention, transaction safety reviews, account review, chargeback monitoring, payment-provider requirements, legal compliance or investigation of suspected misuse.
If the seller does not upload tracking information within 48 hours after buyer payment, the seller receives a reminder.
If tracking information is still missing after 96 hours, the seller receives a warning.
If tracking information is still missing after 144 hours, the seller receives a final warning.
If tracking information is still missing after 168 hours, or 7 days, the buyer may be able to cancel the order and a pre-shipment refund may be processed through the payment flow, provided seller payout has not been released.
MyGearMarket may also automatically cancel and refund eligible orders where the seller does not upload tracking within the applicable timeframe.
A buyer may be able to cancel a Secure Payment order if:
If the cancellation is successful, a refund may be processed to the buyer through the payment flow.
A seller may be able to cancel a Secure Payment order before shipment and before payout has been released.
Reasons may include the item is no longer available, the item was sold elsewhere, the listing contained an error or another legitimate pre-shipment issue exists.
If the seller cancellation is successful before shipment and before payout, a refund may be processed to the buyer through the payment flow.
MyGearMarket does not provide a general refund, return, warranty, compensation, buyer protection or dispute resolution service.
Once tracking has been uploaded or seller payout has been released, MyGearMarket may not be able to process refunds through the platform.
If a buyer and seller agree on a refund, return or compensation arrangement after shipment, they must normally arrange that directly between themselves, subject to applicable mandatory consumer law.
Secure Payment Fees are not automatically refundable unless required by law or expressly stated by MyGearMarket.
If a shipment is lost or damaged during transport, the seller is responsible for pursuing any claim with the carrier and/or insurer.
The buyer and seller must reasonably cooperate so that the seller can submit and support a carrier or insurance claim.
Cooperation may include sharing photographs, packaging information, tracking information, descriptions of the damage, carrier communications and other information reasonably requested by the carrier or insurer.
Where a claim is denied because the seller did not use trackable shipping, did not insure the shipment for the full Transaction Value, packaged the item poorly, provided incorrect shipping information or otherwise failed to comply with carrier or insurer requirements, the loss remains the seller’s responsibility.
MyGearMarket is not the carrier, insurer, claims administrator, escrow provider, buyer or seller, and does not submit, assess or guarantee claims.
When reporting shipping damage, loss or other delivery-related issues, the buyer should inspect the package promptly after delivery.
The buyer should keep the original packaging, shipping box, protective materials and carrier labels.
The buyer should take clear photographs of outer packaging, carrier labels, internal packaging, the item itself and any visible damage.
The buyer should share the necessary information with the seller so that the seller can submit a claim to the carrier and/or insurer.
Where a return is agreed between the parties or required by applicable law, the buyer should return the item in suitable protective packaging unless the parties agree otherwise.
The buyer should provide tracking information for the return shipment.
After receiving and inspecting the returned item, the seller is responsible for any agreed refund or compensation arrangement unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
If a user believes that another user has violated MyGearMarket policies, the user may submit a Report Issue through the platform.
Reports may relate to suspected fraud, abuse, misleading listings, shipment issues, false claims, harassment, counterfeit items or other policy violations.
MyGearMarket may review reports and take action where appropriate, including warnings, account restrictions, suspension, permanent restriction, listing removal, cooperation with payment providers or reporting unlawful conduct to relevant authorities.
Reports are for platform safety and policy review. MyGearMarket may not provide individual updates about the outcome of a report.
MyGearMarket facilitates the platform and payment workflow, but is not a party to the sale agreement between buyer and seller.
MyGearMarket does not provide shipping services, does not take possession of items and is not responsible for packaging, shipment, delivery or receipt of items.
MyGearMarket is not required to investigate, mediate or resolve disputes between buyers and sellers, but may assist at its discretion by providing transaction-related information or platform support.
Nothing on this page limits mandatory consumer protection rights that apply under applicable law.
For business-to-consumer transactions, statutory consumer rights remain applicable where required by law.
All users must comply with the Secure Payment Policy, the Terms & Conditions, the Trust & Safety Policy and applicable law.
If a user fails to comply, provides false or misleading information, uploads misleading tracking information, abuses platform processes or engages in suspected fraud or other unlawful conduct, MyGearMarket may take action.
Possible actions include warnings, restricting account functionality, suspending access, removing listings, suspending or permanently restricting accounts, and reporting suspected fraud or unlawful conduct to relevant authorities.
